Issues In Applied Linguistics

Created in November of 1989, Issues in Applied Linguistics is a refereed journal that is co-managed by California State University, Los Angeles and University of California, Los Angeles. The journal is published once yearly and has established international distribution and a solid reputation in the fields of Applied Linguistics and TESOL.

The term ‘applied linguistics’ refers to a broad range of activities which involve solving some language-related problem or addressing some language-related concern. It appears as though applied linguistics, at least in North America, was first officially recognized as an independent course at the University of Michigan in 1946.

Issues in Applied Linguistics. Our aim is to publish outstanding research from students, faculty, and independent researchers in the areas of discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, language analysis, language assessment, language education, language.

From Practice to Theory. The book has been updated throughout and provides an excellent introduction to the problems and issues that arise in the practice of applied linguistics.
